Gather your strengths
Begin by knowing yourself (be honest). Consider your personal and academic aptitudes, interests, values and limitations.
- What classes have you done well in?
- Which did you enjoy the most?
- Which ones do you tend to avoid?
- What are your career goals?
Stuck?

Identify your options
Become familiar with what LCC has to offer.
Start with LCC's catalog, reading about our programs and program requirements. Make special note of programs that have prerequisites or other requirements and how they apply to your situation. Consider how your own strengths, interests and goals might fit each major. You will naturally gravitate toward some majors and eliminate others. This research should help you narrow your options.
Which one is for you?
Talk to an instructor or advisor in the fields that interest you. Ask to visit a worksite. Talk with students in the classes, or recent graduates. Research the field online through the LCC Career and Employment Center.
