Health Cards or Food Handler cards are required by the Cowlitz County Health Department for all food service employees working in Cowlitz County restaurants, grocery stores, concession stands, and other venues that provide food to the public.
Health Card testing is available at the LCC Admissions Center and the LCC Woodland Center.

How to take the Food Handler test:
All testers must bring a photo ID with them the day of the test. No exceptions.
Food Handler Cards are valid for 2 years throughout Washington State.
The guidelines changed in 2005, and so did the video and test!
Special note: No children or cell phones are allowed in the testing room.
Re-Testing
If you don't pass the test, you can re-take the Food Handler test within 14 days free of charge. You must wait at least 24 hours to retest, and you must view the video again prior to retesting.

Testing and instruction are now available in several languages.

- Written Test: English, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese and Russian.
