Running Start

Start College Now!

Do you want a challenge? Would you like to get a jump on college without having to pay tuition? With Running
Start, you can take courses that satisfy both high school and college credit requirements.

Learn more about the Running Start Program.

Each year, many Running Start students graduate from high school and LCC at the same time.

How it Works

You can choose from day, evening or online college classes. Once you've completed a course satisfactorily, you'll receive college credit, which is transferable to most colleges and universities. Credits may also apply to high school graduation, according to your school district policies.

Are You Ready?

Running Start isn't for everyone. You need to decide if it's right for you.

College isn't easy. You'll need to study hard, but about 300 local high school students participate in Running Start every year. If they can do it, so can you!

Talk it over with your parents or guardian. LCC needs parent or guardian permission before you start, so get them involved in your decision.
